Well as we start to approach the begining of spring that also means my life is going to get a lot more hectic.
I am trying to raise money with my Jr. Auxillary group for the Bowl For Kids Sake fundraiser that will be taking place in the middle of March. I am looking forward to it because i get to bowl with my friends and raise money for a good cause. We will also be sponsoring a supper to help raise money. I enjoy all the community activities that I do with this group.
This Sunday we have pageant practice. I am excited to see every one. The last practice i missed because I was making Valentine's Day cards to send to the Veterans.
I continue to volunteer my time at Flickinger Learning Center on Fridays. due to play practice i am not going as often as I would like, but once the play is over i will start attending more often. I am excited to announce that last friday there was an article in our Muscatine paper stating all the help that my school was able to provide to the Center. I am hoping that this article influences the people of Muscatine to start volunteering at the Center. The article also stated other supplies that people could donate to help the Center run.
I am very pleased to have the part of Sandy in our musical Grease. Even though it is a lot of fun, it takes a lot of time and dedication. This play has taught me a lot of things, how to act in a musical for starters, how to work really, really hard, and that I really enjoy being in musicals. If any one should ask me about being in a play or musical I would say, "Go for it!" It is a good way to be recognized and if it is one of your big dreams to be an actor or singer... then your starting to live your dream!
until my next blog...
Dream big every one,
Jr. Miss Henry County, Matilyn Hepker
